One Design Racing

With a fleet of 13 active Shark 24 sailboats, the Whitby Yacht Club boasts a fantastic one design racing experience. Tuesday night OD Racing consists of two 30 minute races on a course using fixed and dropped marks located approximately a mile and a half from the harbour entrance.

Other one design classes are welcome to participate and have their own start if at least 5 boats are prepared to register.

If you are interested in racing but don't own a boat, fill in the Crew Bank Application in the Racing menu and on the Racing page.

A devoted and much appreciated volunteer committee runs the races from the Club's famous committee boat, Tanker Jones. The warning First gun on Tuesday night is 1830 (6:30pm). Food and bar services are available after the racing.
