2021 Covid-19 Procedure

Following safety guidelines with the Province of Ontario, the Whitby Yacht Club Board of Directors have decided to open our Club to reciprocal boaters with the following caveats.

  1. There will be five slips available per night - visiting boats will require a slip request with 48 hours notice via the WYC Reciprocal Form.

  2. Visitors must receive confirmation of their reciprocal request from WYC Staff before arriving.

  3. Visitors will be encouraged to call ahead on VHF68 before arriving at the Club and staff will meet you at the dock in order to check-in with the COVID-19 Screening and additional information.

Visiting by Water

The entrance to Whitby Harbour is 23 miles East of Toronto, 6 miles West of Oshawa and 32 miles North of Wilson N.Y. The most conspicuous object in the area is the 300 foot OPP antenna North of the harbour. There is a large blue factory building East of the entrance and a 13 story condominium on the North shore. Please consult with Chart #'s 2049, 2062, and 14810 (U.S.). After passing the inner harbour green flashing lighthouse, keep the red cone marks to starboard.

Prior to Arriving

If you are planning your visit to our club, we request minimum 48 hours notice so that we can ensure sufficient dock space and docking assistance is available. Please contact us through the club office or at chelsea@wyc.ca. You can also contact our Office at 905-668-1391.

Docking Fee

Our reciprocal policy is two free nights. Additional nights can be provided at $1.10 per foot LOA. This offer is extended to all reciprocal clubs regardless of their particular policy.

Checking In

Upon arrival we ask that all visitors report to the visitor’s dock located directly north of the clubhouse and report to the Officer of the Day who will assign you a dock. All visitors will be asked to present their club membership card and sign our visitor book. We also monitor Channel 68 and will do our best to assist you through that method to get you a spot at the Club.

Boating Accommodations

Our finger docks are furnished with non-potable water and hydro.  Our dock power connections are 15 Amp twist lock receptacles.  Adapters are available in the Clubhouse free with a returnable deposit. In addition there is an available pumpout for use.  Fuel is available across the harbour at Port Whitby Marina. Access to the Clubhouse for washroom and shower use is available with a temporary access code assigned upon arrival.  BBQ’s are available for visitors' use free of charge - BBQing on your boat is not allowed while at WYC.  See “The Club/Bar & Dining” for the current bar hours.
