On Behalf of the Board of Directors and Members of The Whitby Yacht Club we are pleased to offer reciprocal privileges to the members of your club for the sailing season. Our club is situated on the southwest shore of Whitby Harbour - we require 48 hours notice prior to your visit and we monitor channel 68 upon your arrival to assist with check-in.

COVID-19 Reciprocal Boaters Restrictions:

With the Roadmap to Reopening - Step 2 Measures for the Province of Ontario, the Whitby Yacht Club Board of Directors have decided to open our Club to reciprocal boaters with the following caveats.

1. There will be five slips available per night - visiting boats will require a slip request with 48 hours notice via the WYC Reciprocal From: https://forms.gle/c3ktY7Qnkh7HsgM98
2. Visitors must receive confirmation of their reciprocal request from WYC Staff before arriving.
3. Visitors will be encouraged to call ahead on VHF68 before arriving at the Club and staff will meet you at the dock in order to check-in with the COVID-19 Screening and additional information.

The normal rules will apply to visiting boaters as per our Reciprocal Protocol and Agreements.

Welcome to Whitby Yacht Club

The Whitby Yacht Club is an established yachting club located in the historic Whitby Harbour overlooking the beautiful Lake Ontario. Whitby Yacht Club set a course in 1966 to build an active and comprehensive yachting facility for members of all ages. Today the WYC holds true to that course. We have established a premier social and recreational club where members and their families enjoy a distinctive environment.

The Whitby Yacht Club offers a varied calendar of exciting events in an atmosphere of good fellowship… we have something for everyone from bridge and book clubs, to dinner and dancing, to yacht racing, to marine education and cruising. If you’ve ever wanted a place to get away from it all without leaving town, here it is.

Welcome aboard! We invite you to explore our website, come visit us, or contact us for information.

Fee:

Our reciprocal policy is two free nights. Additional nights can be provided at $1.10 per foot LOA. This offer is extended to all reciprocal clubs regardless of their particular policy. Please post the attached card at your club.

Check In:

Upon arrival we ask that all visitors report to the visitor’s dock located directly north of the clubhouse and report to the Officer of the Day who will assign you a dock. All visitors will be asked to present their club membership card and sign our visitor book. We also monitor Channel 68 and will do our best to assist you through that method to get you a spot at the Club.

Docks:

Our finger Docks are furnished with non-potable water and hydro.  Our dock power connections are either 15 or 20 Amp twist lock receptacles.  Adapters are available in the Clubhouse free with a returnable deposit.  Pump out is available at $15 per use. Fuel is available across the harbour at Port Whitby Marina.

Afterhours access to the Clubhouse is via a combination locked door at the East End of the clubhouse, where the washrooms and showers are located.  BBQ’s are available for visitors' use free of charge - BBQing on your boat is not allowed while at WYC.  See “The Club/Bar & Dining” for the current bar hours.

Welcome to Whitby:

The Town of Whitby is a short bus, taxi or bike ride away. A shopping plaza is now open at the intersection of Gordon St and Victoria St. It is a short walk from the Club. It offers many services including banking, a pub and dining, fast food, groceries (Metro), LCBO and more. There are a number of businesses on the north east side of the harbour including the Town of Whitby Marina, Port Whitby Marine and The Lake Grill restaurant. We are also serviced by regular buses and local taxi.
